GENERAL TOOL & EQUIPMENT RENTAL POLICIES

RENTAL RATES

Rentals begin when the Rental Contract is signed and end when the equipment is returned to us. We rent time - you are charged for time out - not time used. The "minimum/time" is the smallest charge/shortest time period that you will be charged for. From that point on the charge will be calculated on a pro-rated basis (usually 1/8 the day rate for every hour from the starting point) calculated to the nearest minute. The "day" rate is a 24 hour period beginning when the contract is signed and ending 24 hours later; except for those days which precede a Sunday or a holiday, when the "day" rate ends at 5:30 PM the day the contract is signed. Sundays and holidays are chargeable rental days. A week is 7 consecutive days and a month is 28 consecutive days for calculating the rental charge.

OVERNIGHT RENTALS

Equipment rented during the last hour of business on weekdays and returned during the first hour of business the following day will be charged an overnight rate equal to 4 hours plus the number of hours on the hour-meter, if any meter, beyond the number of hours included in the rate.

WEEKEND RENTALS

Equipment rented during the last 2 hours of business on Saturday and returned during the first hour of business on Monday will be charged for 1 day plus the number of hours on the hour-meter, if any meter, beyond the number of hours included in the rate.

HOLIDAY RENTALS

Equipment rented during most holidays will be charged the weekend rental; unless the holiday is preceded by a Sunday then a 2 day rate applies from 2 PM Saturday through the first hour of business on the day after the holiday.

DELIVERY AND PICK-UP

We will deliver and pick up equipment for a minimum charge within a 3 mile radius of our rental store. An additional charge per mile radius for delivery and pickup will be added for locations outside the 3 mile radius. If only the delivery or the pick-up of an item is required, then the charge for such a service is one half of the above amount.

FUEL AND CLEANING

All equipment is rented clean and full of fuel (generally kerosene heaters are filled only with a maximum of 10 gallons due to its weight) and must be returned in this same condition or a cleaning and fueling charge will be added. For fuel tanks smaller than 1 gallon or all 2 cycle gasoline equipment, no charge will be levied.

TRANSPORTING EQUIPMENT

Trailers are rented with some pieces of equipment. All trailers require a 2" ball (some can be adapted with a pintle ring - please check first). We reserve the right to refuse to load or hook-up any piece of equipment into or onto any vehicle deemed unsuitable by a Taylor Rental employee.

PURCHASING EQUIPMENT

Most rental equipment is available for purchase, however only part of the rental payments will be applied to the purchase price unless an agreement with Taylor Rental to purchase the equipment is made at or before the time of rental.

FLAT TIRES

Flat tires are the customer's responsibility. Should a tire have to be replaced, it must be replaced by a tire with like characteristics: size, type (radial/belted/etc.) loading range, number of plies, etc. At this time we are sorry that we do not have trucks or the manpower to help you in the case of a flat tire, therefore it would be best if you rely on a local service for your needs in such a case.

PARTY RENTAL POLICIES

PAYMENT

Half the rental charge is due at the time the reservation is made with the balance due on or before delivery to the customer or pick-up at the store by the customer.

PRICING

All prices quoted are "event" (same as one day) rates unless otherwise specified (non-party items). Special arrangements must be made if you desire to have items that will be used for more than one day. Prices are subject to change without notice.

DEPOSITS

Deposits are required on some items--the amount depends on the item and the size of the order. Deposits will be refunded if the items are returned on time, in good condition and properly cleaned; otherwise the deposit will be used to defray expenses and rent due.

DELIVERY AND PICK-UP

Delivery and pick-up is to ground level and easily accessible yards. There is an additional charge for upstairs, downstairs, long distance hauling and for deliveries outside of our normal delivery area. Special containers are provided for china, silver, glassware, etc., to insure that you receive your items sterilized, undamaged, sparkling and "table ready". Our delivery personnel are instructed to neatly stack all items in a mutually convenient place on delivery. All items should be cleaned, especially items used for food which should be rinsed food-free and repacked in the same containers as delivered. Tables, chairs and boxes are not weather-proof, please do not expose them to rain or harsh weather. Call for current delivery and pick-up rates.

DAMAGES AND CLEANING CHARGES

Customers will be charged for broken, damaged and missing items. A charge will also be made for all boxes and containers not returned.

TABLES AND CHAIRS

Our standard delivery service does not include set-up or knock-down of tables and chairs. This can be arranged at an additional cost. Tables and chairs should be knocked-down and stacked for pick-up.

LINEN AND SKIRTING

Table linens must be dry and free of food wastes to prevent staining and mildew. Please return linens and skirting to their original hangers. Additional charges will be made for damaged linens, skirting, and missing hangers.

CANCELLATIONS & ORDER CHANGES

If an order is canceled at least 7 days prior to the scheduled date, the entire deposit will be refunded. The exception is tent rentals. If a tent is canceled at anytime, the entire deposit will be forfeited. No deletions may be made less than 7 days prior to the date of the order. Additions are welcome, but are subject to the availability of the equipment. DAMAGE WAIVER (DWC) DWC IS NOT INSURANCE, but modifies the rental contract for a fee. DWC is available for most rental items except "Party" rental items. If you pay the damage waiver charge (DWC) as specified, subject to the limitations and exclusions below, Taylor Rental agrees to modify the terms of this contract and to relieve you of liability for accidental damages to the rented item(s) on this contract, and for loss due to fire, collision, windstorm, upset and riot. We exclude from this waiver, however, any loss or damage due to theft, burglary, misuse or abuse, theft by conversion, intentional damage, mysterious disappearance, or any loss due to your failure to care for the rental item(s) as a prudent person would his/her own property, such as proper lubrication. In addition, if the item(s) rented is a truck, you are not relieved of liability of accidental damage for the truck container (box) caused by striking a stationary object. If any such loss tends to indicate a crime may have been committed, a further condition of this waiver is that you must file a report to the proper law enforcement authorities and furnish us a copy. In addition, if you have insurance for the loss or damage, you shall exercise, and shall empower us to exercise, all your rights to obtain recovery under insurance, shall cooperate with Taylor Rental to obtain recovery and all insurance proceeds shall be given or assigned to Taylor Rental.

To avoid paying this charge, an individual (non-charge customer) may waive this modification at time of signing each rental contract. However, a commercial customer (charge or cash) must send us on their company letterhead and signed by an active officer of the company a statement which clearly says: "That the Company wishes to decline Damage Waiver Charges and the protection it offers, since this Company's insurance covers damage to and/or loss of 'Rental' equipment". Also, required is a Certificate of Insurance from the insurance company (each year) which shows the coverage for any damage to and/or loss of "Rental Equipment". The certificate, in the section entitled "Other or Description", must state the following: "Rental Equipment damage/loss coverage is included, under the insurance policy".
